The working principle of the screw air compressor oil separator is mainly based on the multi-stage separation strategy, and oil and gas separation is achieved through a series of mechanical and physical processes. ‌ ‌

First, after the oil and gas mixture is compressed in the screw air compressor, it enters the first stage separator of the oil and gas separator. Here, the oil and gas mixture is initially separated by centrifugal force, and the larger liquid lubricating oil is deposited along the wall at the bottom and discharged through the oil discharge valve. However, since the first stage separator cannot completely separate all the lubricating oil and water molecules, a second stage separation is required. The second stage separator uses a special filter element to further separate the liquid lubricant and water molecules, ensuring that they are effectively trapped inside the filter element.

In the process of oil and gas separation, the crude separation stage mainly removes the large particles of oil droplets through mechanical collision and gravity settlement, while the fine separation stage removes the suspended oil particles through the micron level of the filter element and the glass fiber filter material layer. This multistage separation strategy ensures that the oil content and dew point temperature of the compressed air meet the requirements for use.

In addition, the operation mechanism of the oil and gas separator of the screw air compressor also includes the maintenance of the cooling system. The cooling methods of the oil cooler are air cooling and water cooling, and it is necessary to clean the surface of the cooler regularly to maintain its heat dissipation effect. The oil filter is used to remove impurities in the oil and protect the air compressor host. If the filter is blocked, it should be replaced in time.
